Rating: 5/5Allegiant - Veronica RothOne of the best endings to a series that I have ever read. A truly awesome book. I’m still crying, and it’s very rare that I actually feel this, but I’m going to miss all the characters and their personalities and I feel like I’m losing people I actually knew, that’s how good Veronica Roth’s writing is. This book has all the good elements of the two preceding it without any of the recklessness and selfishness or anything that the second book had that made me doubt that it could end satisfactorily. All the decisions the characters made seemed reasonable to me, a lot of them I could guess before they happened— not because they were obvious, but because Roth leads you to understand the characters so well that there’s only one way they could act to remain true to themselves. The book moves at an awesome, suspenseful pace. I was never bored or waiting for the action to happen again. I loved all of the ups and downs that Tris and Four went through with each other. It wasn’t like in the second book where everything was all fire and ice, in this novel their emotions were much more honest without being any less intense. I love the way that Roth has handled the romantic element in all three of the books though, never making it matter more than the true plot of the story and never letting them get too gushy when the reality of the situation wouldn’t have allowed them to. This is an awesome book. I was going to recommend them to my sister before I read the last one, but as soon as I finish this review, I’m going to order them off Amazon and have them shipped to her house asap. An awesome, awesome series. I can’t wait to reread them all.

spoiler-free mini review

divergent—insurgent:

okay, so i get a LOT of people hated allegiant.

for me, i think the beginning was fine, the middle was grasping at straws, but the ending worked for me. i could not have imagined it a different way, and i think many of you that did want it different didn’t understand the story.

feel free to inbox me and disagree, or agree, or whatever.

I agree about the ending. It was horrible but it made sense and it was necessary. But it was horrible.
